WHAT IS A FOOD DRIVE?
A food drive is a concentrated effort to collect non-perishable
food within a specific time period. The Food Bank of
WNY will work with you in helping to make your food
drive a success.
WHERE DOES THE FOOD GO?
Your efforts will help the Food Bank provide food
to over 500 member agencies, such as soup kitchens,
food pantries, shelters, kids cafes, group homes,
child day care centers, adult day care centers,
summer camps, snack programs and religious group
homes & special pantries.
ORGANIZING YOUR FOOD DRIVE
Holding a food drive requires both good organization
and promotion.
- Select a food drive coordinator. This person
will be the contact between your group/company
and the Food Bank of WNY.
- Decide on a date that you would like to start
a food drive. The food drive can be as short
as one day or as long a month.
