At the Food Bank of Western New York, we work tirelessly to fight hunger one day at a time. As the primary hunger-relief organization in Western New York, we procure and distribute nutritious food and support to our hungry community members throughout Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, and Niagara counties.
The Food Bank of Western New York was founded in 1979, after a group of religious and community leaders came together to develop an effective and comprehensive way to fight hunger in the region.
Today, we assist as many as 139,780 individuals through our 3335 member agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, group homes, snack programs, camps and child and adult day cares.
The Food Bank of WNY is an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Our commitment to accountability, transparency and fiscal responsibility continues to earn us the maximum 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest charity evaluator.
We are certified members of Feeding America – a network of 200 food banks across the country – and the Food Bank Association of New York State.
